Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202078135
Event: 01/04/2007
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Roof

At approximately 3:12 a.m., on January 4, 2007, an employee was spray painting the exterior of the side of the house that rises above the first level. He fell approximately 17 feet to a lower elevation, and hit a concrete stairwell that provided access to the basement of the house. He was not wearing fall protection, and according to coworkers at the site, he apparently just "walked off the roof." The Emergency Medical Services responded to render emergency medical care, and the employee was airlifted to the hospital. The employee was hospitalized and treated for multiple fractures to the head and chest area.
