Event: 03/14/2007
Two Police Officers Are Shot and Killed While on Duty

On March 14, 2007, Employees #1 and #2 were working as officers in the Auxiliary Police section of the New York City Police Department. They were assigned to the New York City Housing Authority, and they were working at the George Washington Houses in the Sixth Precinct. Employee #1 was shot in the head and killed by a perpetrator while on duty. His fellow officer, Employee #2, was also shot and killed. The person who shot the two officers was fleeing from the scene of a crime. Minutes earlier, he had killed a pizza shop employee by shooting him fifteen times in the back. After killing the two officers, he would be gunned down by other officers responding to the multiple shootings. (The original form did not list the pizza parlor worker or Employee #2 on an injury line.)
