Event: 10/06/2008
Employee Amputates Finger in Machine

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on October 6, 2008, an employee was assigned to install the heavy paper packaging material with finished pump equipment being boxed for shipment. The employee reached his hand into the throat of the automatic paper dispenser to retrieve a small portion of the packing material stuck inside. His hand movement caused the motion sensor to trigger the paper cutting bar to be activated. The cutter came onto his middle right finger tip, amputating it. The employee was transported to Fresno Regional Medical Center for treatment. The employee was not hospitalized.
