Employee's Arm Fractured When Caught in Machine

At 7:30 a.m. on September 15, 2007, at an almond processor's facility, an employee, was working in the precleaning area removing debris that was stuck in the expanded metal conveyor system. When the jam was cleared the belt began to move and pulled his arm into the system. The machine had not been locked-out. Employee #1 was taken to Delano Medical Center and then transferred to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield where he was treated for multiple fractures in his arm.
