Employee's Foot Is Crushed When Caught Between Lift Trucks

At approximately 12:15 a.m. on July 7, 2007, an employee unloading product off a covered van trailer with a Crown Electric Stand-up Counterbalanced Lift Truck, when he backed into the back end of another lift truck. Just prior to hitting the other lift truck, the employee placed his leg outside the lines of his lift truck and his foot was in the impact area between the two lifts. Three toes on his left foot were crushed. He was taken to Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville and was admitted for five days and treated for a fractured foot.
