Employee Amputates Finger While Using Microtome Machine

At approximately 7:15 a.m. on July 30 2007, Employee #1 was using a manually operated Microm Model Number 315 Mictrotome machine to perform sample processing in the Histology Department. Employee #1 sustained an amputation of the distal portion of the left index finger. Employee #1 was treated but was not hospitalized.
