Investigation Summary
At approximately 12:01 p.m. on April 30, 2008, Employee #1, a line cook of Rubio's Restaurants Incorporated, was using a 4 ft ladder and cleaning the wall area above the steam table. Employee #1 fell on the table. The hot water, which was inside the steamer and at 180 degree F, splashed up and injured Employee #1. Employee #1 was immediately taken to UCSD burn center for treatment of second degree burns he sustained to his back and the back of his right hand.
