Employee Fractures Foot When Crane Overturns

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on January 16 2007, Employee #1, a crane operator, backed the crane, a Grove Model Number RT-760 mobile crane, down an access road and apparently lost control. The crane struck a small dirt embankment and tipped over with Employee #1 inside. Employee #1 received a fracture to his left foot when it was trapped between the cab and the ground. The crane was not carrying a load at the time. It was being moved into position for a lift. No safety deficiencies were observed on the crane. Employee #1 was NCCO-certified and had 20 years experience.
