Lineman Shocked by Downed Power Line

On Monday January 15, 2007, a 48-year-old journeyman lineman was shocked when he made physical contact with a 7,200-volt power line. This lineman was in an icy and wooded area looking for a downed power line. This employee inadvertently made contact with a 7,200-volt power line. Employee was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. The weather conditions were cold and icy on the day of the accident. Injured employee was working with a fellow employee when the accident occurred. Employees were looking for the downed power line in an effort to restore power in the area.
