Employee Is Injured in Fall from Trailer While Loading Hay

At 2:00 p.m. on April 17, 2008, an accident occurred at the Blythe Public Scales. At the time of the accident, Employee #1 was on top of a trailer that was loaded with bales of hay. As Employee #1 was moving a bale of hay, he slipped and fell off the side of the trailer and landed on his back. Employee #1 fell approximately 13 feet. Employee #1 was initially taken to the Palo Verde Hospital, and on April 18 was transferred to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center where Employee #1 was hospitalized from April 18 to April 29, 2008 with multiple injuries.
