Employee's forearm lacerated when circular saw kicks back

At approximately 12:00 noon on July 14, 2007, Employee #1, a piece-work carpenter for C W Construction, Inc., was working at a residential construction project in Temecula, CA. He was using his own Skil MAG 77 circular saw when the blade bound up and kicked back, lacerating his left forearm. Paramedics responded and transported Employee #1 to the Inland Valley Regional Medical Center for emergency medical care. Employee #1 was then transferred to the Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was hospitalized for two days.
