Employee injured in fall after sliding from roof edge

On June 29, 2007, Employee #1, a roofer, was using a ladder while working on a gambrel roof. He was using one knee to kneel on the roof to reach something when he began to slide down because of the gravel roof material. Employee #1 fell approximately 6 ft off the roof and the ladder and landed on top of a coworker. He was transported to the hospital, where he was examined and released. Employee #1 returned to work the following morning.
