Employee Gets Cut the Tip of His Thumb

On January 24 2008, Employee #1, a carpenter of Bullet Guard Corporation, was using a table saw to rip a 1/8" strip off an 8 feet long piece of stock. Employee #1 used a scrap piece of stock that was notched as a push stick. Having reached the last inch of the cut, Employee #1 placed his hand around the blade with the intent to pull the stock through the blade while pushing with the stick. The stock bound up and kicked back, drawing his left hand into the revolving blade. Employee #1 was hospitalized overnight having lost the tip of his left thumb and suffering a severe laceration to his left index finger.
