Employee injured in fall from roof

On July 26, 2007, Employee #1 and a coworker, of Performance Contracting, Inc., were plastering the side wall of a school building under construction. They left a scaffold work platform and walked along the sloped roof within the scaffolding framework until they came to a corner. As they rounded the corner, Employee #1 slipped on some plastering debris that had been left on the roof and fell approximately 12 ft to the ground. He sustained multiple injuries, including four fractured ribs, a collapsed lung, a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, a fractured right clavicle, a concussion, and a chipped vertebra. The West Sacramento Fire Department responded and transported him to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. Employee #1 was released on August 2, 2007.
