Employee Is Injured When Struck by T Handle in Head

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on June 20, 2008, an employee was removing an irrigation pipe shut off valve from the main irrigation pipe. The employee had partially closed the shut off valve when he released the valve holding clamp. The pressure of the water from the irrigation pipe forced the valve forward causing the T handle to strike the employee in the head. The employee was hospitalized and treated for a brain concussion.
