Employee Injures Knee with Nail Gun

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on July 25, 2006, Employee #1, a carpenter who had worked for the company for 7 months, was performing a regularly assigned task of nailing 2-inch. by 4-inch.boards together to construct a form for a foundation. He had been trained in general construction safety, and in the use of the pneumatic framing nail gun that he was using. As he walked from one location to another, carrying his nail gun, the hose became caught, causing the nail gun he was carrying to strike his knee and discharge. A 3.5-inch. framing nail lodged in his knee, requiring surgery and hospitalization.
