Employee'S Thumb Is Amputated In Machine

On May 17, 2007, Employee #1 was pulling an auger out of a grinder with a manual hoist. The hoist released and stopped causing the collar around the auger to slip and become unbalanced. He placed his hand on top to counter balance the auger which continued to tip up against the grinder pour out area. Employee #1's thumb was amputated.
