Employee Finger Is Amputated in Conveyor Belt

At approximately 10:25 a.m. on March 28, 2007, a Trades Helper Maintenance employee was greasing the conveyor belt. The cover plate over the conveyor belt was removed and the conveyor was not locked out. The employee got his left hand second finger caught in between the sprocket and chain resulting in amputation at the second knuckle. The employee was not hospitalized.
