Employee Is Struck by Flying Object, Punctures Abdomen

At approximately 11:20 a.m. on March 20, 2008, Employee #1 was using a table saw to remove 0.09375 in. from the perimeter of a cabinet door. As he was trimming the door, he was struck with a wood section that kicked back. The wood ejected with a force that punctured his abdomen and went into his small intestines. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he underwent treatment and was hospitalized for 19 days.
