Investigation Summary
On October 11, 2007, an employee, a service technician, was conducting a scheduled preventative maintenance check on an electrical generator at a customer's site. At the time of the accident the generator was in operation as part of the preventative maintenance service. The employee was picking up trash and debris from the area when a plastic bag flew into the operating cooling fan. The employee made a reactionary grab for the plastic bag resulting in amputation of a finger. The employee was not hospitalized.
