Employee Is Injured in Fall While Installing Wall Frame

On July 12, 2006, Employee #1, a carpenter, was standing with one foot resting on a beam and the other foot on the top plate of a connecting wall frame, finalizing installation. Employee #1 was using the claw end of his hammer to pull the beam in order to position for nailing, when he lost his balance and fell approximately 9.5 ft. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for fractures to his lumbar vertebrae and right ankle.
