Employee Is Injured While Verifying Stability of Load

On June 13, 2006, Employee #1 was instructed to check the stability of a lifted filter crusher that was located on a forklift, being operated by a coworker. Employee #1 climbed onto the forklift and placed his hand on the filter crusher to see if it was stable on the forks of the industrial truck. The filter crusher fell towards Employee #1 and struck him, causing him to fall to the ground. Employee #1 was initially taken to St. Rose Hospital and then transferred to Stanford Hospital, where he was hospitalized and treated for bruises and cuts on his back and arm, as well as a fractured ankle.
