Investigation Summary
On August 9, 2006, Employee #1 was on a 90-foot lighting tower for a football stadium, repositioning the emergency lights to a lower level, due to the addition of field lights. The 277-volt alternating current that fed the junction box was not deenergized. Employee #1 cut into the wire and was electrocuted, sustaining entry and exit burns on his hands. A coworker, who was in an aerial lift feeding the conduit to the fixtures, called emergency services. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at the scene.
