Investigation Summary
At approximately 6:15 a.m. on December 20, 2009, Employee #1, a Los Angeles fire fighter, was disembarking from the "tiller" position on truck 38. He lost his handhold and fell backward, striking his head and back on the ground. Employee #1 suffered head injury and bleeding in his brain. Emergency medical personnel transported him to the Long Beach Memorial Hospital, where he received treatment and was hospitalized.
