Investigation Summary
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on April 17, 2009, Employee # 1 was sitting in the back of a golf cart, together with four individuals, not all employees of the employer. At one point, while in transit, the cart stopped to allow pedestrians to cross a cross walk. Employee #1 stated that he thought it was the end of the line and proceeded to step down. Suddenly, the cart continued to move forward. Employee #1 lost his balance, falling on his buttocks and striking his head and face on the pavement. He was knock unconscious. Employee #1 was taken to a medical center, where he underwent surgery for a subdural hematoma and was hospitalized.
