Investigation Summary
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on November 26, 2008, Employee #1, who was employed full time by a nonprofit, charitable organization, was working at the organization's site, which contained a thrift store and warehouse. Employee #1 was assigned to move furniture onto the sales floor. According to statements from Employee #1 and his coworkers, Employee #1 was moving a sofa onto the sales floor, when a customer got verbally abusive to several store workers. When asked to leave, the customer took a swing at Employee #1. Employee #1 sustained a nonserious, 1-inch laceration over his eye. The laceration was bandaged by paramedics at the scene, and they did not transport Employee #1 to the hospital.
