Employee Cuts Hand While Using Chop Saw

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on October 9, 2006, Employee #1 was working with a chop saw cutting a 24-ft long aluminum bar to fabricate frames. The chop-saw was made by Makita. One end of the 24-ft long aluminum bar was on a table, and a stand was holding the middle of the bar. When approximately 12 ft of the aluminum bar was cut, the other end fell to the floor. The end which was on the table, suddenly jumped up, hit the chop-saw, and the chop-saw seriously cut Employee #1's left hand. Employee #1 was cut was between his left small finger and ring finger and was hospitalized for two days.
