Employee Sustains Fractures after Being Struck by Forklift

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on or about February 17, 2006, Employee #1 was assisting a forklift operator to load a crate of glass onto a truck, by holding it steady. The forklift operator had the load spin in a high wind while suspended from a boom attachment on the forks. This put the employee on the blind side of the operator. As the operator moved forward, he struck the employee's right ankle, knocked him down and ran over the lower part of his leg. Employee #1 sustained multiple fractures and was hospitalized.
