Employee Is Killed When Struck by Crane Boom

Employee #1 was using a crane to load a 20-ft crane boom section onto the top of a 40-ft crane boom section lying horizontal on a flat bed trailer. Employee #1 climbed inside the lattice-type crane boom and disconnected the chain. The 20-ft boom section slid off the top of the other boom section and fell approximately 8 feet to the ground, striking Employee #1 on the way down. Employee #1 was killed.
