Employee Cleaning Drive Chain Amputates Fingers

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on March 12, 2007, Employee #1 attempted to remove a glue and lubricant buildup from the drive chain of an Alkar Bander III. Employee #1 used a towel to wipe a moving chain. The towel became caught in a chain drive sprocket and pulled the Employee #1's fingers into a drive sprocket. The tips of four fingers on Employee #1's left hand were amputated. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
