Employee Is Injured When Struck by Loose Bridge Bumper

At approximately 5:00 a.m. on June 29, 2006, Employee #1 was preparing a large roll of rubber for movement with an overhead crane to a processing area when a crane bridge bumper struck him in the back. The bumper had been found unsecured during a recent crane inspection. The employer had been aware of the condition but took no action to repair it. Employee #1 suffered contusions but was not hospitalized.
