Employee Fractures Leg on Steel Table

On September 12, 2007 Employee #1 was standing on a 6 in. high platform at the front of a mill. There was a 33-in.-high steel table on the floor next to the edge of the platform. As Employee #2 was attempting to ascend a ramp he simultaneously pushed the accelerator and turned the steering wheel. He inadvertently shifted the gear into reverse. The forklift went backwards hitting the table which fell onto the platform. Employee #1 heard noises, turned around and was struck on his right leg by the table. Employee #1 suffered a fracture of his right leg. He was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Employee #1 is a direct employee with no other contracts.
