Employee Fractures Knee When Crushed Between Two Trucks

On July 14, 2006, Employee #1, a landscaper, was transferring trash bags containing plant trimmings from his truck to another truck at the end of the day. He completed transferring his trash bags into the truck and stepped down off the back of his truck. A coworker, next in line to transfer his bags, accelerated his truck quickly. The coworker thought the truck was in reverse but it was in forward. When he accelerated, he struck Employee #1 in the right leg. Employee #1 was crushed between the two vehicles and fractured his knee. He was hospitalized with his injury.
