Employee Is Killed in Fall from Roof

At approximately 3:27 p.m. on October 17, 2006, an employee was up on the roof 25 feet from the ground winterizing a swamp-cooler. At the time of the accident, the employee was putting on the side panels of the swamp-cooler, when he lost his footing and fell down 10-ft to the second level and then to the ground striking his head on the pavement as he landed. He was semi-conscious, when he was transported to the hospital where he remained until his death on October 22, 2006. At the time of the accident, the employee did not have a fall protection system in place.
