Employee Is Struck and Killed by Compact Tractor

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on December 27, 2005, Employee #1 and four coworkers were working in an empty above ground open storage tank and installing a metal floor plate. A driver operating a bobcat compact tractor brought sand into the storage tank to build up the floor and level the area for the metal plates. After bringing in a load of sand, the operator began leveling the sand with the tractor. The operator reversed the direction of the tractor. Employee #1 was struck and killed when the tractor backed up.
