Event: 07/06/2005
Employee Is Killed When Crushed Between Two Trucks

On July 6, 2005, Employee #1, a mix concrete driver, was delivering concrete at a residential site. He put the rear discharge truck, Number 89, in reverse gear and set the parking brake. He exited the truck and went to the rear to mix the drum with water in order to dump the concrete into the pump truck. He used the toggle switch to rev up the engine. As the engine revved up, the truck transmission overrode the parking brake and moved back. He was trapped and crushed between the truck and the pump truck, and died.
