Employee Is Crushed by Dryer Roll Nip Point

On January 3, 2007, an employee was removing wrapped paper from dryer roll from Machine Number 7 from the running side of the dryer roll while a coworker "jogged" the dryer roll. The dryer clutch engaged and started the dryer roll rotating at the same time the employee's hands got caught between the felt and dryer. This pulled the employee through an opening between the dryer and a smoothing roll of approximately four inches. The employee was killed.
