Employee Is Struck and Killed by Oncoming Car

On September 17, 2004, an employee was driving a rented standard size industrial forklift on State Highway 33. The employee was changing lanes when the forklift was struck by an oncoming car. The employee was killed. The employee had just completed the unloading of materials into a public storage facility located just off the hwy and was in route back to return the forklift. The employee was cited for the unlawful operation of a specialized vehicle. The employee was not trained to use a forklift.
