Employee Fractures His Ankle When He Jumps from Catwalk

On April 20, 2005, Employee #1 climbed up on the catwalk of the Edco Yarder to talk to the yarder operator about the next road. The yarder operator started to go ahead on a turn and the yarder started to lift up and turn while it was tipping over. Employee #1 jumped from the elevated catwalk on to some large rocks used for the landing base. He hit the rocks and twisted his ankle. Employee #1 was hospitalized with a fractured ankle.
