Employee driving baggage handling TUG is struck and killed

On July 29, 2004, Employee #1, an American Eagle employee, was driving a TUG tractor (number 55012) to pick up baggage. Employee #2, an American Airlines employee, was driving a TUG tractor (number 4291) also during baggage handling operations. The TUG being driven by Employee #2 struck the right rear tire of the TUG driven by Employee #1, causing Employee #1's TUG to roll over on its side. Upon impact, Employee #1 was ejected from his TUG. Employee #1's head was pinned and crushed between the tarmac and the frame of the TUG. Employee #1 was killed.
