Employee dies when struck by tree

At approximately 8:45 a.m. on September 3, 2004, Employee #1 was cutting a tree that was located on a vacant lot. The top of the tree fell and struck Employee #1. A coworker who was working on the opposite side of the lot as Employee #1 observed that the tree was lying on top of Employee #1 and immediately came to his assistance. The coworker used a track loader to lift the tree off of Employee #1 and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until emergency services arrived. Employee #1 was transported to a local hospital's emergency room where he was treated and later died.
