Roofer is killed in fall from roof when jack stand collapses

On July 24, 2004, a construction employee working on the roof of a residence under construction fell approximately 10.8 feet to the ground. A plywood jack stand located on the roof, and containing approximately 20 sheets of plywood, collapsed throwing the employee to the ground. The plywood sheets landed on top of the employee, crushing him. The employee was killed.
