Investigation Summary
At approximately 8:30 p.m. on February 20, 2005, Employee #1 was working with five coworkers installing concrete highway traffic barriers. While assisting another employee retrieving bolts from the back of a crane, the crane lurched backward. Employee #1 was caught between the crane and the rear of a tractor trailer containing the barriers. He was transported to the Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff, where he later died of his injuries. A coworker standing next to Employee #1 on the rear step of the crane sustained bruises and a minor left leg fracture.
