Employee Is Struck in the Chest by Falling Object

At approximately 4:20 p.m. on April 20, 2005, Employee #1 was instructed by his supervisor to move a granulator. The granulator was on castors and next to old electrical cabinets stacked against a wall. The cabinets were not piled, stacked or racked in a manner designed to prevent them from tipping or falling over. The supervisor received a call from Employee #1 informing him that he had been injured. The supervisor found Employee #1 on the ground with some cabinets on top of him. Employee #1 was hospitalized with a fractured chest and crushing injuries to his upper torso.
