Employee Burned in Flash Fire

At approximately 12:50 p.m. on January 14, 2005, Employee #1 and a coworker were applying a solvent sealer, 225-acrylic stone sealer, which is a flammable liquid. They were applying it on a concrete floor inside a residential home using a roller with a long handle. Employee #1 was applying the sealer in the hallway next to the kitchen when a sudden a flash explosion occurred on the floor. The pilot flame of a water heater was on and ignited the flammable vapors. Employee #1 received flash burns on his hands and face and was hospitalized.
