Employee's Finger Is Amputated by Sharp Edge of Table

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2004, Employee #1, a mechanic, finger was partially amputated. Employee #1 was sitting on a movable shop stool with his left hand resting on his left leg, when the Hardy Air Lift table suddenly dropped. The sharp edge of the lift table partially amputated the tip of his left little finger and caused abrasions to his upper left leg. Coworkers came to his aid, provided first aid and took Employee #1 to the hospital, where he was treated and released. The employer was a motorsports, motorcycle, ATV, retail sales and repair service establishment. Employee #1 was a regular full-time employee.
