Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202440020
Event: 11/12/2004
Employee Is Injured When Pinned Between Two Trucks

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on November 12, 2004, Employee #1 was performing a wheel and axle alignment on a Freightliner, Century Class truck. There was another truck, a GMC, Kodiak, Super Duty, with a crane mounted on it, parked behind the Freightliner truck. Employee #1 had an air jack underneath the rear axle of the Freightliner truck. As Employee #1 tried to lower the rear axle of the truck by using the lever on the jack, the lever came out and the air pressure was discharged. The rear end of the truck bounced on the floor and rolled back. Employee #1 was pinned between the two trucks and sustained serious injury which required hospitalization for five days.
