Employee's Hand Is Injured When Caught in Press

At approximately 5:50 a.m. on October 15, 2004, Employee #1 was operating a rotary reciprocating screw injection molding press, Illinois Precision Corp., Model TTM-HS2, Press Number 43, Serial Number 10126. She was operating the press and noticed extra plastic on the wire and on the injector. As she tried to remove the extra plastic with her left hand, it was caught between the trimmer and the purge post, installed vertically on the rotating table. She received crushing injuries to her left hand and was hospitalized.
