Employee Fractures Hip in Fall from Tree

At approximately 2:35 p.m. on August 14, 2004, an employee was trimming an elm tree on a stem next to the main trunk. He had his tree worker's saddle on. He had the secondary rope, taut line, tied to a side stem. He had to move to other side of the main trunk. He needed to move from the primary rope to the primary rope on the other stem. He took the primary rope from the main trunk. As he moved to put the rope to the other stem, the stem where his secondary rope was tied off, broke. He fell on the dirt ground and sustained a serious injury to his right hip, which required a surgery and hospitalization for six days.
