Employee Is Injured in Fall from Scaffold

On August 14, 2007, an employee was working for Bay West Showplace Investors as a carpenter foreman The employee was working by himself to make a measurement to install sheetrock on one side of the wall. He was using a 6-foot "Perry" rolling scaffold to install the sheetrock. He was climbing onto the rolling scaffold in order to make some measurements. When he reached the working platform, he was standing up. At approximately 12:56 p.m., the employee fell to the floor. Other coworkers on the other side of the same wall heard his fall and came to his aid. The emergency services were called. The paramedics responded to the incident. He was taken by ambulance to SF General Hospital. The employee suffered a mild concussion and laceration to the left side of his head, fractured ribs on the left side and was released three days later.
